No one really thinks too much about their home’s septic system when it is working properly. Except for regularly treating their septic system with specific enzymes to help eliminate waste build up, most people do not interact with their septic system on a regular basis.\
When it comes to a homeowner and their septic, Spring Hill residents should know that they will start to notice specific issues that can be observed both inside and outside the home. Yet when homeowners know something is wrong, they may not know what the specific cause is.
Luckily, there are professionals who work hard to figure out what the problem is by investigating the different parts of a septic system to see where the problem lies. Here we will go over some of the process of what professionals do to find a problem within a septic system.
Performing Septic Inspections
There are a few different parts in a septic system that can have problems for homeowners that can be found both inside and outside the home.
When professionals get called out for issues related to a homeowner’s septic, Spring Hill residents should know that oftentimes their first place to see if there is an issue is the septic tank. All parts will connect to a septic tank, and it is oftentimes a big cause of many problems.
In order to get a good look inside the septic system, septic professionals will perform what is often called a septic tank investigation. This usually involves using a scope with a camera on it to view the current state inside a septic tank. This can reveal how much waste is in the septic tank, and if there is a potential clog, or if the septic tank on the inside is cracking or some other issue.
Looking at the Leaching Fields of a Septic System
Sometimes when septic professionals take a look inside a septic tank to find any issues with a scope, there isn’t much evidence to prove that the issue lies somewhere in the septic tank of the system.
If that is the case, the next big area that professionals will investigate and test are the leaching fields of the septic system. When it comes to residential septic, Spring Hill residents should know that the leaching fields are responsible for taking waste from the septic tank and dispersing it throughout the yard to slowly get rid of the waste.
If there is an issue with the leaching fields, the system can have problems disposing waste properly. The most common result of this is raw sewage that is pooling in the yard somewhere. Like that of a septic tank issue, professionals will test the lines to the leaching field to see if waste can still move easily through these lines. It is not really possible to scope these lines, but they can be tested.
